Navigation & routing

Routes that know Iraq’s roads.

Directions by car and on foot, travel-time matrices, map matching and stop ordering on a road graph built for Iraq, in the request and response shapes your Mapbox or OSRM code already uses.

Directions, travel-time matrices, map matching and trip ordering on Iraq’s roads.

Mapbox and OSRM shapes

Same paths, same parameters, same responses: most migrations change the host and keep the code.

Avoid motorways

Ask for a route that keeps off motorways; when none exists you get the fastest one, flagged as such.

Many points per request

Directions take up to 25 points, a matrix up to 25, map matching up to 100 and trip ordering up to 12.

Early access

Directions

Routes between 2 and 25 points by car or on foot, with alternatives, turn-by-turn steps and the line to draw, in Mapbox Directions’ shape.

GET /v1/directions/{profile}/{coordinates}
Driving and walking routes, with alternatives and steps.
Live

Turn-by-turn in Tareky Maps

Our own app drives on this routing every day: voice guidance in Arabic and English, routes that avoid motorways, drives planned for later, and reports from other drivers along the way.

Arabic voice, avoid motorways, planned drives: live in our app.
  • Travel-time matrix

    Early access

    Up to 25 points in one request: every travel time and distance between them, for dispatch, delivery zones and “nearest driver”.

    GET /v1/matrix/{profile}/{coordinates}
  • Map matching

    Early access

    Send up to 100 GPS points and get back the roads the vehicle actually drove: for trip records, mileage and clean tracks.

    GET /v1/match/{profile}/{coordinates}
  • Trip optimisation

    Early access

    Up to 12 stops in, the order that takes the least time out, as a round trip or with a fixed start and end.

    GET /v1/optimize/{profile}/{coordinates}
  • Live traffic

    Not available yet

    Road speeds in tiles and in route times, from anonymous driving data. In development: the pipeline runs in shadow while data builds up.

We run our own app on it.

Tareky Maps uses these APIs every day. Every screen here is a screenshot of the app itself, refreshed from the running code.

Questions

Which profiles are there?

Driving and walking. Cycling and isochrones are not offered.

Does it include live traffic?

Not yet. Times come from the road graph; live traffic is in development and marked as such.

How is routing billed?

A directions request is one unit, map matching two, and a matrix or a trip optimisation three.

Build on Iraq’s own map.

Tell us what you are building. During early access we issue keys by hand, and we email you once when yours are ready.
